(1) calcitriol + NADPH + H+ + O2 ⇌ calcitetrol + NADP+ + H2O
(2) calcidiol + NADPH + H+ + O2 ⇌ secalciferol + NADP+ + H2O

Vitamin D3 24-hydroxylase is a heme-thiolate enzyme (P-450).
