Wikipedia standard notation for set of complex numbers: ℂ or or C?
Will changing C to ℂ or uniformly throughout an article raise objections?138.207.235.63 (talk) 23:33, 13 June 2019 (UTC)
- MOS:FORMULA advises not to change between LaTeX and HTML without a clear improvement. Propose changes on the talk page of an article before implementation. The alternatives considered are:
- ℂ, Unicode Double-Struck Capital C, U+2102, included in the block: Letterlike Symbols.
- is a symbol defined by the LaTeX package «amsfonts». Do not use it in section headings as LaTeX markup does not appear in the table of contents.
- C bold italic capital C in HTML.

- The LaTeX appears in the ToC on my browser, so maybe it related to settings. Anyway, notation should be consistent within an article, so if a recent edit uses a different notation than already established in an article then do change it. If the article has consistent notation then don't change it; there is no IUPAC for math (IUPAM?) to establish standard notation and it's certainly not Wikipedia's job. --RDBury (talk) 06:55, 14 June 2019 (UTC)
