St George's Basilica, Victoria, Gozo, Malta
Archived discussion follows below. Please do not modify it.
This request for creation has been reviewed. The reviewer comments appear below the article text.
St. George's Basilica is situated in the middle of the capital Victoria and is surrounded by a maze of charming old narrow streets and alleys. The basilica was built between 1672 and 1678.
The parish originated in medieval times, definitely before 1450, when it is recorded functioning as a parish church. The foundation stone of the present church was laid on 7 August 1672 and it was consecrated on 21 September 1755. On 6 September 1958, the church was bestowed the title of Basilica and on 8 December 1976 it became an Archipresbyteral and Collegiate Church aggregated to the Cathedral-Basilica of Saint John Lateran of Rome.
This parish church is rightly referred to as the marble basilica as it is entirely covered with marble. The bronze and gold guilded canopy over the high altar is indeed impressive, but the main attraction is a statue of the patron saint, St. George, sculpted in wood by Pawlu Azzopardi in 1838. It is the first titular statue acquired by a parish church in Gozo.
All paintings in the dome and ceiling are by Giovanni Battista Conti of Rome. Mattia Preti, Giuseppe Cali, Michele Busuttil, Giuseppe Fenech, Francesco Zahra, Fortunato Venuti, Injazju Cortis, Ramiro Cali', Filippo Cosimo, Giuseppe D'Arena, Salvatore Bondi' Roberto Dingli and Stefano Erardi are other famous artists whose works can be admired in the Basilica. The liturgical feast of St. George Martyr falls on the 23 of April, but outside festivities are celebtrated with great pomp around the 2nd week of July.

Das Argument
Archived discussion follows below. Please do not modify it.
This request for creation has been reviewed. The reviewer comments appear below the article text.
"Das Argument - Journal for Philosophy and Social Sciences" is a longstanding German periodical. It was founded in 1958 as an independent scholarly journal of West German intellectuals of predominantly Marxist orientation. Ever since, "Das Argument" has been the oldest and biggest Marxist journal in West Germany. Together with ProKla (chief edited by Elmar Altvater) and Blatter fur deutsche und internationale Politik (edited by Jurgen Habermas et al.), it belongs to the Big Three of contemporary German Marxism. Its circulation rate is approximately 2,000 copies per issue. "Das Argument" appears six times a year. Each issue contains between 160 and 180 pages. The last issue of the year is a double issue.
The journal emerged from the protests against West German remilitarization. Both from conservatives as well as liberals and Marxists, the journal has been considered to be of far-reaching importance to the shaping of the student movement of the 1960s. Since its founding in 1958, the journal has been chief edited by the West German Marxist philosopher Wolfgang Fritz Haug who taught at the Free University Berlin. Haug is internationally renowned for his "Critique of Commodity Aestheticism" which was translated into numerous languages. The English edition appeared in the 1990s. As a journal, "Das Argument" is successor to the legendary Zeitschrift fur Sozialforschung which was the official journal of the Frankfurt Institute of Social Research. The Institute of Social Research was the central institution of what has become known as the Frankfurt School. The Zeitschrift fur Sozialforschung appeared between 1931 and 1941 and was chief edited by Max Horkheimer. In the 1930s, it contained the seminal essays of theorists such as Walter Benjamin, Herbert Marcuse, Theodor W. Adorno, Erich Fromm, Leo Lowenthal and many others. In its early years, "Das Argument" was characterized by many of the surviving Frankfurt School theorists. This changed during the 1970s. Since the mid-1980s, "Das Argument" represents a position of Plural Marxism. The two main sister projects of "Das Argument" are, first of all, the "Historisch-kritische Worterbuch des Marxismus" (HKWM) (Historical Critical Dictionary of Marxism). The HKWM aims at the general refounding of Marxism as a living unity of theory and praxis. It has been published ever since 1994 and is supposed to contain 20 volumes of approx. 500 pages each. Its contributors are renowned Marxists from more than 30 countries. In English, some of its articles are published by the British journal "Historical Materialism". Along with "Das Argument", the Historical Critical Dictionary of Marxism is published by the Berlin Institute of Critical Theory (InkriT). InkriT organizes annual international conventions devoted to the discussion of central HKWM entries which recently have taken place in Esslingen near Stuttgart. The second project closely connected to "Das Argument" has been the historical critical and complete edition of the Prison Notebooks and Prison Letters from Italian theorist Antonio Gramsci. This project was launched in 1991 and finalized in 1999. "Das Argument" has cooperated with a number of prominent novelists, playwrights and poets. Currently, the two main collaborating authors are the nobel prize winning Austrian author Elfriede Jelinek and Volker Braun. In 2008, "Das Argument" is going to celebrate its 50th anniversary. Currently, the editorial board consists of Wolfgang Fritz Haug (chief editor/philosophy), Frigga Haug (chief editor), Peter Jehle (literature), Mario Candeias (economy), Claudia Gdaniec (feminism), Richard Heigl (history), Vanessa Lux (coordination), Erwin Riedmann (sociology), Ingar Solty (social movements and politics), Thomas Weber (culture) and Gerhard Zimmer (pedagogy).
Each issue of the journal is devoted to a specific theme (in 2006, these have been "American Vistas", "Politics of Literature", "Female Migrants", "Thinking History Globally" and "Big Contradiction China"). The journal contains a substantial review section which is also derived from the original Zeitschrift fur Sozialforschung.

According to a recent poll The Badger, the University of Sussex weekly newspaper, they are by far the most popular club in the tournament. Notoriety for the B Team came about at an astonishing speed at the beginning of the 2006-2007 season, when the then unknown team won the tournament in their first attempt, establishing an underground following along the way.
B Team was formed at the beginning of the academic year in September 2006 by Alex Finch, player and brother of the teams' goalkeeper Tim Finch. The team was formed from a group of friends, who had previous links with the various University of Sussex student union groups. Michael Joyner, Andrew Cowans, Robert South and Dave Dancsecs were members of the Universities football teams whereas Alex Finch and Tim Finch with Scott Medd were members of the rugby and ski societies respectively. However, their original link together has been attributed to their sharing of the Universities Park Village residential district.
Rumor suggests that team name was decided on by Mark Kaye, after his love for the 1980's American television series, The A Team. The black strip was chosen around this time.
2007 Autumn tournament
The University of Sussex Autumn 2007 tournament saw the B Team progress through the group stages in second place, an feat never before achieved by a rookie team. During the course of the qualification, the B Team developed a cult following amongst the University Of Sussex students. This cult following developed voice on the University student radio station URF(Universities Radio Falmer).
B Team went onto progress to the final, where a close fought game ended in a victory for the B Team in a penalty shootout. It was during this progression that the teams underground popularity reached its peak around the university campus and surrounding area. A stark increase in the wearing of black from the students of Sussex university was noticed in homage to the team.
B Team went onto play in the Winter of 2007 tournament with this cult following backing. However, it was unable to match its form of the previous season and finished fifth. This failure to match the standard of the previous season has been popularly attributed to the pressure of their new found fame.
The team have since begun on the summer season with a marked decrease in fan expectation.
Squad Changes
B Team has only had one change in personnel over its life. After the first season, Charlie Messenger left the team citing displeasure of cult status. This position was not filled until the beginning of the summer season with the arrival of Robert South, another member of the University of Sussex football team.
Style Of Play
The first season saw B Team play a set back 2-2-1 formation, using one overlapping defender and two wide midfielders. This style developed in to a more conservative style in the winter season, with the removal of the overlapping defender and the adoption of the flat back two. The Summer season has seen B Team move to an overlapping defender formation again, with a narrow core midfield.
Rivals
Fellow students No Name are considered to be B Teams fiercest opponents, despite No Names' lack of success in the tournament. No Name have been a long standing team within the tournament and it has been attributed that they resented B Teams quick found popularity and success.
Possible personal feuds have also been disclosed, coming to a head in the Winter season, most famously with B Team member Mark Kaye and No Name member Yianni Luoca.
Trivia
Robert South's nickname is 'Peachy,' after once wearing a peach color jacket.
I am not affiliated with this team in any way. They are a football team in my city
of residence, Brighton. I know they have had articles written about them in magazines
etc in Brighton, and are mentioned on local radio, but I know they definitely were published
in the Badger. They are somewhat a local legend in the Brighton area, if you need further authenticity,
contact anyone young person from Brighton you know and they will probably have heard of them. Best regards,
Sara. x.

DJ Mehdi, real name Mehdi Favéris-Essadi, is a major French hip-hop/electro producer. Born 1977, in the north-western suburbs of Paris, Hauts-de-Seine (92) (literally "Seine Heights") and of a Tunisian background. Media:http://www.pedestrian.tv/images/mehdi2.jpg
Former DJ of the groups Different Teep (ex-group of Manu Key & Lil Jahson), Ideal J and former member of the collective the Maffia K' 1 Fry. He was also a long time the quasi-appointed producer of the group 113 and carried out the near all the production of the albums for Different Teep and Karlito. Amid his work Mehdi has remixed various electronic acts and composition soundtracks for many French and international films.
Being recognised for his efforts and budding into one of the French underground hip-hop music scene’s premier producers, since then he has pushed the boundary’s by mixing hip-hop and electronic music. Collaboration with such notable artists of the likes of Daft Punk, Cassius, MC Solaar, Futura2000, Asian Dub Foundation among others. “Coming from a rap music background, it’s always nice to collaborate within other music genres…Paris is very inspiring because a lot of people are making great stuff, music and in other arts related fields also. My music and philosophies revolve around beats and blues, that’s how I would try to describe it.”
Signed to Pedro Winter's (aka Busy P) cross-genre Ed Banger Records, the two as far back as 1997, were working on various disco-hop sounds. Together they hosted a very successful monthly night at former Paris nightspot Pulp. “I like to be the DJ, I love it so much. I love to try new things. You would never get into this business to be bored, or you would hope not.”
Mehdi released his first full-length LP in 2002 (The Story of Espion), and his second successive album, Lucky Boy, in August 2006. With the popularity of cross genre hip-hop into such areas as indie music and electronic, popularisation by Timbaland and other labels from the US in more recent years had assisted to bridge the gap between dance genres.
“The internet has changed music.” With the rise in popularity of online media, particularly sites such as myspace, while Mehdi has never been one to jump on the bandwagon, he knows it has given him a medium of expressing and putting out his music.

Doctor Robert J. Grover, who has also published under the nickname Bob, was born on October 27, 1942 in LaPorte Indiana. He started his career in library science as the Media Services Coordinator of the Westville public schools in 1968, where he spent two years. He then spent four years as the librarian of the Oak Park/River Forest high school. Grover made the decision to persist in this field, continuing on to become an associate instructor at the Graduate School of Library Science of Indiana University as he received his graduate degree in the MLS program and then earning a PhD in the same program. From 1981 through 1987, he served as the dean of the School of Library and Information Management at Emporia State University in Kansas a position to which he was reappointed in 1998 and continues to serve, currently in a temporary capacity, through today. During his ‘sabbatical’ from Emporia State, he was director and professor at the School of Library and Information Science at the University of South Florida. According to his ESU faculty biography, “since 1990 he has worked closely with the Kansas Association of School Librarians, chairing the KASL Research Committee, 1994-2001; that committee created a model for planning and assessing learning and tested that model.” Dr. Grover may also be the only person to have two nearly identical entries (due to an editorial mistake?) in the 1982 Who’s Who in Library and Information Services.
Dr. Grover initially helped the nascent field of library science find a theoretical, research base from which to grow. His 1986 paper, co-written with Jack D. Glazer, proposed a taxonomy of theory for library and information studies research that attempted to visualize and explain the progress from the observation of a phenomena to a “world view” through the practice of theoretically-based research. The authors revisited this taxonomy of theory again in 2002, this time to include the impact of the individually and socially affective dimensions, maintaining the same basic structure and concepts while confronting those factors that may influence the researcher’s perception of phenomena. This renewed vision they called “Circuits of Theory” as it includes the original taxonomy as well as the contextual models researchers must consider in their work. This modification to their original points to the heavy influence of Carol Kuhlthau and other context-related theoreticians that is prevalent through much of Grover’s work.
In looking at the affective dimension of the information search process and how to best assist in that work, Dr. Grover’s writing constantly reinforces the multidisciplinary nature inherent in one’s role as an information specialist. In his 1993 paper, A Proposed Model for Diagnosing Information Needs, in which he elaborated on the importance of assessing not only the explicit information need of the user but also the inherent issues that may affect the receptivity to found information, Dr. Grover drew on several disciplines within the behavioral sciences including learning theory, cognitive theory, life-type theory, brain theory, information theory, and role theory. Amazingly, he suggested that even this wide variety of disciplines would not be enough to adequately inform the field in the future. He asserted that other areas of research to include in future assessments of information needs diagnosis include sociology, social psychology, linguistics, physiology, cultural anthropology, ethnography and cybernetics. By encouraging the inclusion of several bodies of research beyond library science, Grover has attempted to solidify this field as one firmly planted in the hard sciences.
Grover’s research focus has served as a reminder to all information professionals that their discipline cannot grow within a vacuum. To this end, Dr. Grover’s biggest contribution to the field of school media research has been to help establish a common language and assessment methods with which content-area teachers, administrators and the school media specialist can effectively discuss and prepare school curriculum. Through his work with the Kansas Association of School Librarians and the Kansas State Department of Education, Grover and several contemporaries, including Carl Fox and Jacqueline McMahon Lakin developed and tested what they call “The Handy 5,” a common-language rubric of students’ success with learned information skills. The five steps identified by this teaching model include: (1) assignment, (2) plan of action, (3) doing the job, (4) product evaluation, and (5) process evaluation. These researchers theorized, and discovered through research, that the development of such a language would foster greater collaboration between teachers and media center specialists in planning meaningful activities for learners.

Stormchaser is the second book in the edge chronicles. Twig has been reuinited with his father, Cloud Wolf. Cloud Wolf's sky ship, the Stormchaser had been damaged when Twig attempted to fly the ship. Cloud Wolf needed to pay back his debts to a Shryke named Mother Horsefeather. She has been paying for repairs and provisions for the Stormchaser and it's crew. Cloud wolf found out that the only way to do this is to go stormchasing to provide a substance called stormphrax to weigh down the floating city of Sanctaphrax. The Stormchaser crew set sail to chase the Great Storm. The ship's quartermaster, Sylvo Spleethe planned a mutiny against Cloud Wolf. Spleethe kindnapped Twig and held him hostage so Cloud Wolf would give him control of the ship. Spleethe was killed and his goblin assosiate, mugbutt, was too. The ship was above the Twightlight Woods when the lightning bolt whitch produces stormphrax struck. The bolt shot down, becoming more and more solid until it broke through the canopy of the treetops below, burying itself into the soft earth of the twighlight woods. The ship was very badly damged in the high winds of the Great Storm so Cloud Wolf ordered his crew to abandon ship. Before Twig jumped, Cloud Wolf gave him his sword. Cloud Wolf stayed behind to attempt to reagain control of the destroyed ship. Twig jumped overboard and flew through the sky with his sky pirate parawings. Twig crash landed in the Twighlight Woods. He walked and walked until he found the rest of the crew of the stormchaser after making their way through the Woods and losing some of the crew to the dangers of it the crew pledged alliegance to Twig, he was their new captain. The crew made it to the clearing which led to the mire. when they reached the mire a man named screed said that he would help them cross the vast wasteland of the mire. Screed killed the crew members until only Twig and the mysterious Stone Pilot was left. Screed then cut off his victims toes. Twig and Screed battled each other until Screed fell, blood pouring out of the wound that Twig's father's sword had entered. Twig and the Stone Pilot found an old sky ship, half buried in the mire mud. Inside they found a chest full of stormphrax. The Stone Pilot then revealed itself to be a girl named Maugin. Maugin and Twig rebuilt the ship using wood and tools found in the ship's hold. Twig flew the ship back to Undertown. When in Undertown, Twig gave the strompharx to Mother Horsefeather. In return, the Shryke gave Twig a new sky ship called the Edgedancer. Twig then set sail to find his father.... By Joe McDonald

Ashim Ahluwalia (Born 1972) is an Indian director known for his striking approach to the documentary film medium. He studied film at Bard College, New York.
In 1999, Ahluwalia completed THIN AIR, a film that followed the lives of three magicians against the backdrop of contemporary Bombay. The film won the Best Film Award at Film South Asia. Film critic Meenakshi Shedde, The Times of India, writes: “… films like THIN AIR are redefining the sub-continental documentary… ”
His first feature-length project, JOHN & JANE (2005), premiered at the Toronto Film Festival in September 2005. Canada’s largest daily newspaper, The Toronto Star, described it as the “No. 1 pick” at the festival. It was voted "Top Ten Undistributed Films" by The Village Voice, although the film was subsequently acquired by HBO Films for US release. JOHN & JANE showed at the Berlin International Film Festival and New Directors/ New Films in New York. It has also screened at other festivals in Edinburgh, Vancouver, Paris, Jeonju and Durban. The film won the International award at the European Media Art Festival, The Maysles Brother Award (Bristol Film Festival 2007) as well as the Director’s Guild of America Jury Award/ VC Filmfest. Glowing reviews followed from the New York Times, Spiegel, Hollywood Reporter, BBC and the Asian press.
JOHN & JANE is radical in the way that it frames questions about globalization. It is currently used as a media text at UC, Berkeley and The University of British Columbia.
Ahluwalia’s short films have showed at venues such as the Tate Modern in London and the Centre Pompidou in Paris. In 2006, he was commissioned to work on a group film/ architecture installation for the Venice Architecture Biennale.
Ashim Ahluwalia is currently in production on a fiction feature-film entitled MISS LOVELY, set in 1980s Bombay.
