(1) taurochenodeoxycholate + NADPH + H+ + O2 ⇌ taurohyocholate + NADP+ + H2O
(2) lithocholate + NADPH + H+ + O2 ⇌ hyodeoxycholate + NADP+ + H2O

Taurochenodeoxycholate 6α-hydroxylase is a heme-thiolate protein (P-450).
