1-deoxypentalenate + 2-oxoglutarate + O2 ⇌ 1-deoxy-11beta-hydroxypentalenate + succinate + CO2

1-Deoxypentalenic acid 11beta-hydroxylase contains Fe(II) and ascorbate.
