[(1R)-2,2,3-trimethyl-5-oxocyclopent-3-enyl]acetate + ATP + CoA ⇌ AMP + diphosphate + [(1R)-2,2,3-trimethyl-5-oxocyclopent-3-enyl]acetyl-CoA

This enzyme is isolated from Pseudomonas putida.
