In algebraic geometry, the Fröberg conjecture is a conjecture about the possible Hilbert functions of a set of forms. It is named after Ralf Fröberg, who introduced it in Template:Harvs. The Fröberg–Iarrobino conjecture is a generalization introduced by Template:Harvs.

Statement of Conjecture

Given generic homogeneous polynomials g1,g2,,gk[x1,x2,,xn] of degrees a1,a2,,ak resp. Then the Hilbert Series of [x1,x2,,xn]/g1,g2,,gk is (1+t+t2+)n(1ta1)(1ta2)(1tak) truncated at its first negative term.
