Summary

Description
English: Comparison of the magnetic H-field and B-field inside and outside of a cylindrical bar magnet. The fields are accurately computed with the Magnetic-charge model and Ampère's model, which both yield precise solutions for the case of vanishing susceptibility () that coincide perfectly outside of the magnet. For the H-field in the Magnetic-charge model, magnetic charges are considered at the magnetic poles (plus and minus symbols). For the B-field in Ampére's model, effective current around the magnet are considered, which are displayed here with symbols for ring currents (dot symbols for current out of the image plane, cross symbols for current into image plane). Discrete field lines are drawn.
