Summary

Description
English: Esturary (i) is dominated by change in channel depth. Therefore the high tide (HT) wave speed is larger than the the low water (LT) wave speed. This causes tidal asymmetry with a relatively fast rising tide. Estuary (ii) is dominated by change. Therefore, the high tide wave speed is slower than the low tide wave speed. This causes tidal asymmetry with a relatively slow rising tide.
