    Summary

    Description
English: The orbits of S/2021 N 1 (red) and other Neptunian irregular moons (gray), as seen from 3 different views. Prograde irregular moons are colored blue, while retrograde irregular moons are colored red. The major moons of Neptune (Triton and Nereid) are colored magenta.

The positions of moons are plotted on the date 2026-Jan-01 00:00 UT, with fading trails representing past positions. The trajectories were acquired from the JPL Horizons Ephemeris Service via the "astroquery" Python package, and positions were plotted in matplotlib.

The XY coordinates describe the ecliptic plane (plane of Earth's orbit). The left panel shows an oblique 3D view of the moons' orbits, the middle panel shows a 2D view from above the ecliptic (XY) plane, and the right panel shows a 2D view from the side.
