In the solar context, the electron beam that begins the process is produced either by magnetic reconnection or a shock wave. This chart was adapted from "Coherent Emission" by Melrose, D. B. (2009) in Universal Heliophysical Processes, International Astronomical Union (IAU) Symposium vol. 257. |
