Summary

Description
English: Flowchart outlining the stages of plasma emission, which is responsible for most types of solar radio bursts. In the solar context, the electron beam that begins the process is produced either by magnetic reconnection or a shock wave. This chart was adapted from "Coherent Emission" by Melrose, D. B. (2009) in Universal Heliophysical Processes, International Astronomical Union (IAU) Symposium vol. 257.
