English: Example of left- and right coiling in gastropods: figure at left side: Neptunea angulata (=contraria auct.) as left coiled; figure at right side: Neptunea despecta as right coiled species. Both are fossil from Pliocene deposits near Antwerp (Belgium), North Sea Basin.
