Deutsch: Kafarnaum, Synagoge, Inschrift an einer Säule: Zum frommen Gedenken an Reverendus Pater Gaudentius Orfali vom Orden der Franziskaner, durch dessen hingebungsvolle Mühe die Nordsteine der antiken Synagoge und vier Säulen an ihrem Platz wieder errichtet worden sind. Er starb zwei Tage nach seinem Werk am 12. vor den Kalenden des Mai (am 20. April) im Jahr des Herrn 1926. Zu Gefallen ("Unter dem Beifall") der Internationalen Archäologischen Vereinigung, das Denkmalsamt (Amt zur Pflege und Bewahrung der Altertümer)
English: Capernaum, Synagogue, inscription at a column: To the pious memory of the Reverend Father (Reverendi Patris) Gaudentius Orfalus, OFM, by whose devout work the northern stones of the ancient synagogue and four columns were restored to their positions. He died two days after his work on April 20, 1926.
