Summary
DescriptionIllustrative components of cloud feedback.svg
English: Clouds affect the amount of reflected shortwave radiation, and the absorbed and emitted long radiation. Cloud feedback is how those "cloud radiative effects" are altered in response to global mean surface warming. Typically the relevant changes in cloud properties are conceptualised as changes in the temperature of the cloud top, changes in the horizontal area of clouds, and changes in the opacity (i.e. how much they allow radiation to penetrate through them).
