Description Carl Friedrich Gauss wohnte als Student von Ostern 1796 bis Michaelis 1798 als Mieter bei Witwe Volbaum im Haus Kurze-Geismar-Straße 25 (Q112946236) in Göttingen.
:Die marmorne Gedenktafel „C. F. Gauß 1796-1798“ war ursprünglich an dem Haus Gotmarstraße 11 angebracht, in dem Gauß als Student 1795/1796 gewohnt hatte. Da das Haus dem 1969 neuerrichteten Textilkaufhaus Brenninkmeyer weichen musste, wurde die Gedenktafel mit geänderten Jahreszahlen an das Haus Kurze Geismarstraße 25 versetzt.
