English: These are the velocity and position probabilities for damped harmonic oscillator (in a potential U=1/2k x^2, with k=0.1) with thermal fluctuations, at long times. The green and the red curves are the Boltzmann Probabilities corresponding to velocity and position respectively. The temperature scale chosen is k_B T =1. The system is relaxes to a thermal equilibrium at long times, as is indicated by the probabilities matching Boltzmann Statistics at long times. |
