English: Animation of an epicyclic gear mechanism in which the sun gear can be turned clockwise by one input and is prevented from turning anti-clockwise by a ratchet, the planet carrier can be turned anti-clockwise by another input and prevented from turning clockwise by a ratchet, and the output ring gear is turned anti-clockwise by either or both inputs. As shown, both inputs turn and the ring gear turns as combined output. |
