English: a loop of superconducting wire of radius Rc (m) on the order of 100 km that carries a direct current Ic (A) which generates a magnetic field that pushes against a plasma wind to generate thrust via shroud lines connected to a spacecraft. Orientation may be radial like a frisbee or axial like a parachute to create torque for steering. Peripheral platform units contain spools of coil wire, power management and other infrastructure. |
