English: Video of a freezing soap bubble with ice crystals moving due to the Marangoni effect. The reason it looks like a little snow globe as the crystals form is because liquids move from areas of low surface tension to areas of high surface tension. As the bubble freezes, changes in temperature change the surface tension & as the crystals form they flow in what's called the Marangoni current. Filmed in McGregor, Minnesota, USA. |
