English: Continuum–subtracted UV/blue spectra of 3I/ATLAS over eleven VLT/X-shooter and two VLT/UVES visits. Each trace shows the residual spectrum after removal of a reflected–solar continuum; spectra are vertically offset for clarity with visit numbers and dates indicated. UVES observations (U1, U2) are positioned chronologically between the corresponding X-shooter visits. Left panel: 3210-3255 Å region showing selected Ni i emission lines. Center panel: 3350-3630 Å region displaying the full forest of Ni i transitions. Dotted vertical markers indicate laboratory wavelengths of detected Ni i lines (labels in Å), which dominate the emission spectrum and strengthen toward later epochs. Right panel: 3840-3930 Å region covering the CN B^2 Σ^+ −X^2 Σ^+ (0−0) violet band (shaded interval at 3863-3885 Å). The inset shows high-resolution UVES data of the CN region from August 15 (visit U2).
