(1b) artemisinic alcohol + O2 + NADPH + H+ ⇌ artemisinic aldehyde + NADP+ + 2 H2O
(1c) artemisinic aldehyde + O2 + NADPH + H+ ⇌ artemisinate + NADP+ + H2O
