Rachel Connor is the current head writer for the Cartoon Network series Ed Edd 'n Eddy. She was born into a blue collar working class family in Liverpool, England. Rachel has been an avid cartoon fan since she was a young child. She was reading the newspaper by the age of 3, and had put together her own comic "Angus, Bonnie and Candy" about her grandmother's scottish terriers when she was 7. She attended Notre Dame Catholic College and decided at the age of 15 that she wanted to study creative writing and performing arts. At 18 Rachel decided to travel, her first destination being New York. There in New York she did several art and writing commissions for independent studios dotted around Manhattan.

At 19 she joined Duck, You Sucker! Productions, a studio based out of Orange County, California with Ed Edd 'n Eddy writer Mike Kubat at the helm. Rachel went on to work in creative development in several of DYSP's home-grown projects. In August 2004 she was hired by AKA Cartoon to submit premises and work on season 5 and 6 of Ed Edd 'n Eddy. At the age of 23, she is one of the youngest professional writers in the cartoon field and currently holds the title as the youngest person to acquire a head writer position for a Cartoon Network show. Rachel is also an infamous figure in the underground web circuit, well known for her projects and sites co-created with the vivacious Kerrin McNeill, a native of Boston and her best friend since childhood. They currently reside in East Vancouver, Canada, working on undisclosed projects.

2004 Illinois Senate race

In 2004, Illinois elected Democrat Barak Obama as its new senator to the United States Congress, replacing Peter Fitzgerald, a Republican who voluntarily retired.

Obama won many newspaper endorsements in the Democratic primary, but was not expected to win because an opponent had much stronger financial support. However, that candidate suffered an embarrassing scandal, and Obama won the primary.

The Republican primary winner, Jack Ryan, appeared to be a formidable candidate. He was a banker who had gone to teach in the Chicago public schools, and earned the backing from the state's Republican party leaders for this senate run. Press reports often referred to him as good-looking and he had formerly been married to actress Jeri Ryan. However, his campaign imploded when he suffered his own embarrassing scandal. Since he was running for public office, an Illinois judge decided it was in the public interest for portions of his divorce records (which had been sealed) to be opened. These records showed that he had repeatedly pressured his unwilling wife to attend sex clubs with him where they could publicly make love alongside other couples. Social conservatives were upset at this information. State Republican party bosses were outraged because Ryan had assured them there was nothing damaging in his divorce proceedings. Ryan was forced to withdraw from the race.

This set in motion a new round of embarrassments for the Republicans as they could not find anyone willing to take his slot. Two of the three living former Republican governors, Jim Edgar and Jim Thompson were asked to fill the slot but turned it down. (The third ex-governor, George Ryan was being investigated by federal authorities for corruption). State party head Judy Baar Topinka refused to take the seat. A few other Republicans of lesser note were offered the post, including at least one man who ran in the primary against Ryan. All refused. In desperation, the state Republican party began looking at unorthodox choices. Former Chicago Bears coach Mike Ditka was asked to run. He declined. A fan of former Chicago Bear Dave Duerson faxed in that ex-NFL star's resume to party headquarters. They mistakenly thought Duerson himself was interested and asked him to run. He declined, informing them that he had already publicly endorsed Obama for the office. This dragged on for well over a month.

During this period where the Republicans could not find a senatorial candidate, the Democratic party asked Barak Obama to give the keynote address at the 2004 Democratic National Convention. Obama's speech made him an overnight sensation and made a lopsided race that much more a certain Democratic success.

Finally, the party succeeded in getting a candidate, talk radio show host Alan Keyes. In his favor he was a talented speaker, and willing to take controversial stands. However, he had never held office before. He also did not live in the state, as he was a Maryland resident. He was also a social conservative and Illinois tended to lean to the left.

Keyes's campaign mostly gave news for his controversial statements. He took extreme stands against abortion and gay rights. At the Republican National Convention he said gays were selfish hedionists. When a reporter asked him if that meant the daughter of Vice President Dick Cheney was a selfish hedionist, Keyes responded that she was. The Illinois Republican party openly distanced itself from Keyes at this point. Moderate Republicans such as Topinka openly denounced his statements. Conservative Republicans commented that he was making his points in needlessly off-putting ways. Keyes continued to make a series of rather questionable statements throughout the campaign.

On election night, Obama unsurprisingly won. His was the biggest victory ever in an Illinois senate race, breaking a record previously set in 1920. Keyes, for his part, never gave a concession speech that night, a decision some felt typified his ineffective campaign style. Shortly after the election Keyes pledged to stay in Illinois and help rebuild an effective social conservative political force in Illinois, but he moved back to Maryland very shortly later instead.

The plant is greyish-green in colour with 30-40 wavy-edge ribs with few areoles. There flowering period is normally during spring, these flowers can grow to 2cm (3.4 inchs) long. Fuck Compton is an underground diss song by Bronx rapper Tim Dog from his debut album Penicilin On Wax.He recorded the track because he felt West Coast rappers were whack and taking over and to gain a name for himself.The song like much of the rest of the album contains many direct disses towards N.W.A, Ice-T, and Michel'le,Even going so far as to diss all the Bloods and Crips in Compton.The chorus has him shouting Fuck Compton!! and spewing insults such as

Ill crush Ice Cube and course Ice-T,

But N.W.A aint shit to me.

Step to the dog and get fucked up.

The track sparked a ripwave in hip hop at the time and caused many Compton rappers to respond.In a way it started the fist signs of East-West hip hop rivalries that would emerge some years later.However the West Coast's main response was not from a Compton rapper,but from a then unknown Long Beach rapper Snoop Doggy Dogg on the second verse of the diss track Dre Day.Tim responded to Snoop on Bitch With A Perm and Dog Baby, Parodies of Gin and Juice and Dre Day.Fuck Compton is considered by some to be one of the best and most ruthless disses in history.

The video is filmed in the Bronx, and shows Tim Dog assaulting and beating N.W.A members if they ever stepped to him.

Professor Sir James Clarke Holt is an English medieval historian, and an Emeritus Professor at the University of Cambridge. Holt took his DPhil at the University of Oxford, and later worked at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge, where he served as master from 1981 to 1988. He has also been made honorary DLitt at the universities of Reading and Nottingham. He has been knighted for his work, and is a Fellow of the British Academy.

Holt made his fame with the book Magna Carta, which came out in its original edition in 1965. Here he treated the famous charter in the context of the political framework of its time. The book has since been fully revised, and is still considered authorotarian within its field. He has also published other works on the same period, such as The Northerners: A Study in the Reign of King John, and Robin Hood.

History

Big Fresh was opened in 1988 with its first store in Mount Wellington Auckland. Big Fresh offerd a wide range of fresh foods, discount groceries in large market-style store. The concept for Big Fresh was based on a Farmers Market with their focus being on their extensive range of fresh foods. The stores offered entertainment for the family with their singing and dancing characters throughout the store. Big Fresh had a number of inititives that made their stores unique from the dab=ncing charactors to the Popcorn Club for the children.

The Big Fresh concept became popular throughout New Zealand and the chain expanded throughout the country, with its links to Woolworths Supermarkets (New Zealand) and Dairy Farm International Holdings who also owned the Franklins Supermarkets in Australia the brand was also launched into the Australian market under the brand Franklins Big Fresh.

The Latter Day Church of Christ

The Latter Day Church of Christ is a Mormon religion based in Derbyshire in England. They believe in the restoration of the gospel of Jesus Christ by Joseph Smith and they regard the book of Mormon to be a holy book of scripture along with the bible the 1844 doctrine and covenants and the pearl of great price. They believe in baptism by immersion, They believe that this is the only was that you can enter in to the kingdom of god. Their church is lead by Matthew Gill. They believe that Matthew Gill is a modern day prophet who was called by god who dose in fact speak to god on a daily basis, and that he is gods chosen successor to Joseph Smith. They believe through Matthew Gill that the lord has again established his law and church upon the earth and they are calling all people to join with them in spreading the gospel of Jesus Christ and preparing for the time of the coming of Christ. Matthew Gill was told by god in a vision that there are dark times to come and that the churches of the earth are not doing what he wants them to do. He was told that since the death of Joseph smith god’s church has not been upon the earth although others profess to be god’s church they are not. God told Matthew Gill that he wanted him to set up his church again on the earth. They also have added scripture in the form of ancient records delivered to them by the hand of god, which talk of the ancient inhabitants of the British Isles and their dealing with god. They do not believe in the practice of polygamy and they speak out against its inclusion in the gospel of Christ. They claim no connection with the LDS church of Utah and want none.

Their aim is simply this to call people to Christ. They want to be able to bring that light in to people’s lives. They believe that the teachings of Joseph smith along with modern day revelation do that and they want all to share in that wonderful blessing. They are also setting up a farm called Zion’s camp in which they aim to produce their own food and produce so that the needs of the saints and other members of the community are provided for. They make no apology in asking for donations, to do this work.

Formed in 1997 by Nick and Scott Heigelmann, they released an ep "The Frozen Divide" on Lifeforce Records and a full length, self titled release on Willowtip Records. An upcoming discography including all of their songs remixed and remastered as well as 3 never recorded cuts is going to be released on Willowtip Records in the Future.

Colonel Bagshot were a Brisitsh band from Liverpool, in 1971 they released a song on the small indie label Cadet Concept, the song in question was "Six Day War".

The song was about the actual Six Day War which was also known as the June War, was fought in 1967 between Israel and Egypt, Jordan and Syria. This was the war which put the Gaza Strip and West Bank under Israeli control. In rhetoric about the situation in Israel and Palestine, there tends to be a lot of talk about pre- and post-1967 borders, which refer to the borders before and after this war.

The song is basically just one ghostly voice singing over a single guitar with a few nearly marching drum beats appearing later, it is quite a haunting tale about the war, the lyrics are also quite meaningful -

Criticism of Che Guevara

Though he has been labeled by some as a hero, opponents of Guevara, including most of the Cuban exile community and some refugees from other countries under communism, view him as a killer and terrorist. They claim that he ordered the execution of hundreds of people in Cuban prisons and peasants against the Cuban Revolution in the regions controlled or visited by his guerrilla forces. New York Sun writer, Williams Myers, labels Che as a “sociopathic thug”. Other US newspaper critics have made similar remarks. These critics point out that Che Guevara was personally responsible for the torture and execution of hundreds of people in Cuban prisons, and the murder of many more peasants in the regions controlled or visited by his guerrilla forces. They also believe that Guevara was a “blundering tactician”, not a revolutionary genius, who has not one recorded combat victory. Guevara founded Cuba's forced labor camp system, establishing its first forced labor camp in Guanahacabibes to re-educate managers of state-owned enterprises who were guilty of various violations of "revolutionary ethics". Many years after Guevara's death, Cuba's labor camp system was used to jail dissidents of the Revolution. Critics believe Guevara was ineffective and in reality a poor tactician. They dispute accounts of the Battle of Santa Clara; on the capturing of a train supplying heavy reinforcements, critic Álvaro Vargas Llosa writes, "Numerous testimonies indicate that the commander of the train surrendered in advance, perhaps after taking bribes."

Some claim Guevara was a failure at managing the Cuban economy, as he "oversaw the near-collapse of sugar production, the failure of industrialization, and the introduction of rationing—all this in what had been one of Latin America’s four most economically successful countries since before the Batista dictatorship." There is also the belief by some critics that, because there is no documentary evidence of Guevara having earned a medical degree, he was not actually a doctor.

In "The Cult of Che", writer Paul Berman critiques the film The Motorcycle Diaries and argues "that modern-day cult of Che" obscures the "tremendous social struggle" currently taking place in Cuba. For example, the article discusses the jailing of dissidents, such as poet and journalist Raúl Rivero, who was eventually freed after worldwide pressure due to a campaign of solidarity by the International Committee for Democracy in Cuba which included Václav Havel, Lech Wałęsa, Árpád Göncz, Elena Bonner and others. Berman claims that in the U.S., where Motorcycle Diaries received standing ovations at the Sundance film festival, the adoration of Che has caused Americans to overlook the plight of dissident Cubans. This glorification of Che is also satirized by online site che-mart.com, which, among other things, markets T-shirts poking fun at both Guevara and his supporters, casting aspersions on what they perceive as an irony: Che Guevara as one of capitalism's hottest-selling images.

Critics also believe Che executed more than just political figures, but also political dissidents. Although much criticism of Guevara and his legacy emanates from the political center and right, there has also been criticism from other political groups such as anarchists and civil libertarians, some of whom consider Guevara an authoritarian, anti-working-class Stalinist, whose goal was the creation of a more bureaucratic state-Stalinist regime.

Alex Hodara, a high school student from Westfield, New Jersey, donated a Biometrical Ankle Platform System to the Children's Specialized Hospital during the 2005 summer. His donation was through the eBoy Charity Foundation, a NJ registered charitable foundation that was started in 2004. Hodara's foundation takes donated items and sells them on eBay, and then gives the proceeds to charitable causes. This was Hodara's first large donation. The eBoy Charity Foundation also ran the Plainfield Bagel Breakfast in the summer of 2005.

Jerry Johnston

Thank You Mask Man

Thank You Mask Man is an animated short parody of The Lone Ranger based on the skit by Lenny Bruce.

Creation and Controversy

Thank You Mask Man was created by Imagination, Inc., produced by John Magnuson(a friend of Lenny's) and directed by Jeff Hale. The cartoon itself attributes direction to Lenny Bruce and John Magnuson. A recording of Lenny Bruce performing 'thank you mask man' is used as the source for all dialogue. The final cartoon was completed in 1968 and was met with controversy, not unfamiliar to Bruce's career (although Mask Man was completed after his death). Primarily, the film was criticized by the gay community who believed it to be anti-gay, and by others who were disturbed by the references to homosexuality. After some screenings fist fights and arguments reportedly occurred. Several theaters avoided showing or cancelled scheduled showings of the cartoon for fear of controversy.

However, Thank You Mask Man is now interpretted as lampooning the redneck and homophobic populace, and is occassionally shown in gay film festivals.

Story

Below is the story of Thank You Mask Man. The story follows the complaints of the citizens whom Mask Man has been courageously and selflessly aiding. For the begininng, Mask Man is labelled a 'beautfil person' for helping with 'garbage and lawn mowing' among many other good deeds. Soon the citizens begin to be angered by Mask Man's selflessness, and accuse him of patronizing them by disregarding their thanks. Eventually, Mask Man becomes obsolete with the return of the Messiah (he thrived off the existence of crime, but now everything is pure). In the end, the town grants Mask Man any gift of his choice; Mask Man chooses Tonto the Indian and a horse so he may 'perform an unnatural act.' The townfolk are disgusted, and Mask Man rides off into the sunset with his rewards.

French Memories is a small cafe located in Duxbury, Massachusetts that is frequented by local residents. Seperate branches under the name of Cafe Vanille are located throughout the Boston area in upscale neighborhoods such as Chesnut Hill. Café Vanille has three locations in the Boston area. French Memories in Duxbury is in a quaint building overlooking the water. The café in Beacon Hill is the largest, attracting patrons with discerning tastes for French sweets. Still studying at Drama School, Richard was plucked from obscurity to create an amazing array of characters including the memorably disshevelled newsreader, 'Tee Pee Moses' and was perhaps most well-known for his impersonation of Rob Sitch and several other personalities - Michael Caton, Harry Potter and Detective Lennie Briscoe from 'Law and Order' amongst many others.

He has since become a prominent theatre actor, performing with all the major leading Australian theatre companies - Sydney Theatre Company, Bell Shakespeare, Malthouse Theatre and is an accomplished comedian and writer. His TV writing credits include Backberner, Big Bite, Comedy Inc. and currently, Standup Australia (Foxtel) writing material for host, Cameron Knight. In 2007, Richard tours his show, 'Gilgamesh' to The Barbican Theatre, London for the world-renowned 'Bite' season, and his feature film version of 'Hamlet' (in which he plays The Dane) is to be released in 2007 also.

Other film credits include 'Noise' by Matt Saville [Official Selection, Sundance Film Festival 2007], 'In Your Dreams' by Greg Williams, and 'Is God a DJ' by Ben Chessell. He was a member of the comedy troupe 'Enter The Datsun' with Charlie Pickering, Michael Chamberlin and Charlie Clausen, and featured in several Melbourne International Comedy Festivals. In 2003, Richard was awarded The Irene Mitchell Award for Acting, VCA Drama School.

His performances have been widely acclaimed by the press and he has been touted as an actor to 'look out for'.
